Atlanta trio, The Coathangers, are the rare punk rockers who continue to write sharper songs and win new fans after more than a decade in the spotlight. Last month, they released their sixth studio album, ‘The Devil You Know.’ The tight collection of raucous, politically charged songs is the most melodic in the band’s history – guitarist Julia Kugel delivering sticky, undeniable hooks with a pretty sigh, while drummer Stephanie Luke growls underneath like an angrier Joan Jett.

The band is known for their high-energy live performances, often leaving the stage to join enthusiastic crowds. KDHX photographer, Doug Tull, caught up with the group during their April 6, 2019 concert at The Old Rock House.
