A Celebration of Book Arts: Exhibitions featuring Ken Botnick, Buzz Spector, and Delmas Book Arts Fellows
Join Washington University Libraries as we celebrate the opening of three new book arts exhibitions.
“Ken Botnick: Making Books by Hand” features works by Ken Botnick, Director of the Nancy Spirtas Kranzberg Studio for the Illustrated Book. Botnick’s work in graphic design and artists’ books create a colorful, eye-catching display in which viewers can explore the ways in which text can be used in different forms.
Buzz Spector, Professor of Art in the Sam Fox School, tears books, stacks books, and cuts them up to create unique works of sculpture, photography, and collage. “Buzz Spector: Works On and Of Paper” highlights some of his most intriguing works.
“Kranzberg Studio, Recollected: A Retrospective of the Nancy Spirtas Kranzberg Studio for the Illustrated Book” was curated by Book Arts Fellows and features books created by students at Washington University. This exhibit highlights book arts on campus and the collaboration between the Kranzberg Studio and the Libraries.
Remarks at 5 p.m. will be followed by a light reception. This event is free and open to the public.
