FGI Saint Louis's Fashion's Afterlife

What happens to your clothing if you donate them and they just won't sell? Join FGI Saint Louis on October 6th at Mednik Riverbend, the Midwest's largest textile recycler and owner of three local resale shops, to find out what actually happens to obsolete donated clothing.

This interactive and educational event is for EVERYONE WHO WEARS CLOTHES! It will be a one-of-a-kind event for the Saint Louis area with a behind the scenes look at the Mednik Riverbend Textile Recycling factory with an interview with President Rick Wolf. Attendees will also be treated to resale shopping experience at Found by the Pound, an inside look at the design process used to deconstruct/reconstruct clothing and a demo of RECLEM, a revolutionary materials recycling process by Mary Ruppert-Stroescu, Washington University Fashion Lead and educator. This will be a seen and be seen event! Dress to Impress in your best Vintage, Resale, Swapped, or Thrifted outfits to enter our Sustainable Style contest. Bring your friends and sense of adventure!
