University Libraries Faculty Book Talk Series: Caitlyn Collins

Join us on Thursday, April 4, for a University Libraries’ Faculty Book Talk Series event with Caitlyn Collins, assistant professor of sociology at Washington University in St. Louis. She will discuss her new book, "Making Motherhood Work: How Women Manage Careers and Caregiving" (Princeton University Press). The talk will take place at 4:30 p.m. in Room 142 of John M. Olin Library and will be followed by a reception.

In "Making Motherhood Work", Collins draws on interviews she conducted over five years with 135 middle-class working mothers in Sweden, Germany, Italy, and the United States. She explores how women navigate work and family given the different policy supports available in each country.

Copies of "Making Motherhood Work" will be available for purchase on April 4. The event is free and open to the public.
