Poetry at the Point - May 28 with Jason Vasser-Elong, Katelyn Delvaux and Maja Sadikovic

POETRY AT THE POINT on May 28 will feature poets Jason Vasser-Elong, Katelyn Delvaux and Maja Sadikovic. Poetry at the Point is held at THE FOCAL POINT in Maplewood on the 4th Tuesday of the month. This reading series invites local and regional poets, and established and up-and-coming poets to share their words. The event is free. 

JASON VASSER-ELONG holds an MFA creative writing from University of Missouri – St. Louis. His debut collection of poetry shrimp (2Leaf Press) was released in April 2018. His most recent poetry appears in Black Lives Have Always Mattered, Crossing the Divide: From the Poets of Saint Louis, and elsewhere.

KATELYN DELVAUX's poetry can be found in Split Lip, Menacing Hedge, Watershed Review, formercactus, New Territory, and more. Her work has received nominations for Best of the Net and Pushcart Prize, and she has received fellowships from National Endowment for the Humanities and Poetry Foundation. She currently lives in St. Louis, where she teaches composition and literature, and serves on the poetry staff for Rivet.

MAJA SADIKOVIC holds an MEd and an MFA from University of Missouri – St. Louis, where she served as associate editor for Natural Bridge. She also holds a certification in Conservation & Biodiversity from St. Louis University. Her poetry can be found in Currents and elsewhere. She has taught in Turkey and Brazil, and currently teaches high school English in St. Louis. 

The Focal Point is at 2720 Sutton.  Parking is free in the lot on nearby Marietta Avenue or street parking. Readings start at 7:30 p.m. Refreshments available at the Maya Cafe next door.
