Philadelphia-born bassist/bandleader Christian McBride is a Grammy Award winner with over 300 recordings as a sideman and 11 critically-acclaimed albums as a leader. He has recorded and performed with everyone from James Brown, Pat Metheny, Chick Corea and Wynton Marsalis to Sting, The Roots, Bruce Hornsby and Paul McCartney. In 2009 McBride began focusing his energy through a more traditional lens with the debut of his critically acclaimed Inside Straight quintet.

“…the phrase “Inside Straight” captures this band’s aesthetic well: It’s both “inside” a comfortable groove pocket and “straight”-forwardly bluesy.” –NPR Music
