In 2025, the process of selling our radio license to secure the organization’s future began. As a result, there will be a change in programming on 88.1 FM effective October 1, 2025. KDHX, a program of Double Helix, has ceased operations. Double Helix still owns and operates our building and studios in Grand Center, and we are excited to continue our mission of building community in a twenty-first-century emergent media landscape.

Double Helix Corporation was incorporated in 1971 as a 501(c)(3) organization and has held the radio license for 88.1 FM KDHX since 1987. We are grateful for the opportunity we’ve had to broadcast on 88.1 FM for the last 38 years. Thank you for your support.

The mission of Double Helix is to build community through media.

Double Helix is committed to building community through media, using the power of music and education to unite and engage individuals and communities. As an organization, we believe that we must be people-centered, transparent.

Double Helix values independence. We believe that Double Helix’s independence is at the core of our ability to create content and showcase independent music without the influence of commercial interests. Double Helix is committed to showcasing and promoting independent music and providing an essential point of connection for local organizations, artists, and audiences.

Double Helix believes that to authentically live into our mission to build community through media, the organization must be diverse, inclusive, and anti-racist. Double Helix seeks to create a sense of belonging for a diverse set of board members, staff, volunteers, donors, and listeners. Double Helix’s vision is reflected in our mission, purpose, and values. The KDHX Strategic Plan for 2021-2024 deepens the commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and anti-racism and outlines specific steps to building capacity in these areas.
