Crohn's & Colitis Foundation "Take Steps" Walk
"The Mid-America Chapter of the Crohns & Colitis Foundation has announced that KMOV Investigative Reporter Chris Nagus will serve as Emcee the 2017 Take Steps For Crohns & Colitis Walk Campaign. This annual benefit walk will take place on Sunday, June 4th at the Tremayne Shelter at Creve Coeur Lake Park, located at 13725 Marine Avenue in Maryland Heights, Missouri 63043.
The Take Steps for Crohns & Colitis Walk is the nations largest event dedicated to finding cures and raising awareness for digestive diseases. Our Take Steps walks offer an incredible day for family, friends and the community to celebrate all the efforts that have been put forth in raising funds towards our mission. More than 40,000 people walked for cures last year, raising more than $10 million for mission-critical research and patient support programs.
Funds raised through Take Steps will directly impact vital treatment, research, and life-giving patient programs for 1.6 million Americans particularly the estimated 80,000 children who live with Crohns disease or ulcerative colitis. The annual Walk is a family-friendly festival dedicated to patients and their families, and serves as a celebration for all the hard work and dedication of our community. Participants connect with other patients, families, and caregivers throughout the community, creating a web of support for IBD patients in the local area.
The St. Louis Take Steps Walk festivities will include live entertainment and music, fun activities for children and refreshments. The event kicks off with Registration beginning at 1:30 pm, and the actual Walk beginning at 3:30 pm.
KMOVs Chris Nagus is this years Walk Emcee. Chris and the 2017 Honored Heroes Madison Harbison and Olivia Anic invite you to join them, their friends and family and the IBD community members helping to bring Crohns disease and ulcerative colitis awareness to the St. Louis community!
