KDHX Volunteer Spotlight: Michael

Host of Floored
Friday, 11 p.m. - 1 a.m.

Show Description:
Floored is a marriage of rock, metal, and dance music (with an emphasis on female vocals) coming together to pierce your ears.

What would would you like to share with KDHX listeners and readers about yourself?
I consider myself a music stat junkie.  I own several song, band, and album reference books that I have read many times over. I also own two mid-size/large dogs, Winston and Oscar. I enjoy spending time with them especially outdoors when the weather is nice.

Please describe the inspiration for your show.
I've been listening to music all my life. I remember watching DJ Wolfman Jack on television. He was cool to hear. Once I  started listening to rock, metal, and club music, the desire to get that music over the airwaves intensified. I can now share my passion and love playing those styles of music with the KDHX community.

Why does being a KDHX DJ matter to you?
It's where I can reach out and talk to those who enjoy variety when they turn on the radio or the device they prefer. I want people to enjoy and discover something new just as I like to do.

Why is KDHX important to you and to your community?
KDHX is unique. Too many musicians, singers, topics, and events go unnoticed.  KDHX gives all those a platform to be heard.

What are some of your favorite KDHX shows?
I can say that I have heard all the shows. Not possible to choose one or two.. I may lean a bit towards the rock and metal but I enjoy listening to numerous styles of music. And KDHX is where I hear them all.

What record do you think everyone should have in their music library?
The record everyone should have in their library is the one record that you dig.

Favorite thing you are listening to at the moment?
Lately, I've been listening to a lot of riff-driven doom metal with female lead vocals. The combination is fantastic.
