Christmas in July

The Friends of Washington State Park will host “Christmas in July” at the park campground. All campers are welcome to participate in a Christmas Campsite Decorating Contest, which will begin on Saturday and be judged on Sunday morning. Prizes will be awarded for best decorated and most original.

Other activities will include a scavenger hunt, educational programs and the chance to see Santa. Throughout the weekend, the Friends of Washington State Park will be collecting new, unopened toy donations for the local Toys for Tots organization. This two-day event is free and open to the public. A complete schedule of events is shown below:

Saturday, July 27:

•Christmas Campsite Decorating Contest Begins

•10 a.m. - 7 p.m. - Scavenger Hunt

•Noon - 4 p.m. – Kids' Train Ride

•1 p.m. - Santa Arrives

•2 p.m. - Fire Safety Program

•7 p.m. - Hug a Tree Program

Sunday, July 28:

•7 a.m. - 10 a.m. - Fundraiser Breakfast

•8 a.m. - Christmas Campsite Decorating Contest Judging/Awards
