Breaking Patterns

Montminy Gallery is proud to present Breaking Patterns, a reflection of female artists related to MU School of Visual Studies. 

Breaking Patterns is the start of our 2020 lineup of artists. The show was co-organized and co-curated by Catherine Armbrust, faculty at MU School of Visual Studies.

As systematic patterns begin to shift so does the academic landscape nationwide, providing space for women in the field of Visual Art to forge through. Breaking Patterns is a grouping of talented female artists teaching and learning in this landscape.

Some of the work relates to breaking personal patterns towards growth, while other work is commenting on systematic patterns around race and gender. Each artist has a story to tell through their work. 

We hope you'll join us for the opening reception of these talented artists, Feb. 15, 2-5pm.
