Menorahs and Martinis

On Thursday, December 2 at 7 pm, Chabad of Chesterfield will host a Chanukah ladies night out titled: Menorahs and Martinis. Participants will have the opportunity to design their very own granite menorah while enjoying a Chanukah themed martini bar and gourmet Chanukah treats. The event promises to be an opportunity for local women to rejuvenate and connect.

This year the holiday of Chanukah falls out on the evening of November 28th and continues through the evening of Monday, December 6. Chanukah is the Jewish eight-day, wintertime “festival of lights,” celebrated with a nightly menorah lighting, special prayers and fried foods.The Hebrew word Chanukah means “dedication,” and is thus named because it celebrates the rededication of the Holy Temple. Also spelled Hanukkah (or variations of that spelling), the Hebrew word is actually pronounced with a guttural, “kh” sound, kha-nu-kah, not tcha-new-kah.

A group designed for the contemporary Jewish woman, the goal of The Women’s Chai Circle is to connect Jewish women in the Chesterfield area through exciting events and activities. The Jewish Woman’s Chai Circle comprises women of diverse affiliations and backgrounds who join together, in an atmosphere of friendship, to have a good time, to explore Jewish themes and to work together to give back to the community through various projects. The Jewish Women’s Chai Circle is a project of Chabad of Chesterfield.
