Opening Reception for Overcoming Inspiration: Experiencing Acceptance Art Exhibition

Join us for an opening reception for our art exhibit Overcoming Inspiration: Experiencing Acceptance on February 21st, 2020 from 5:30-7:30pm at the Gretchen Brigham Gallery at Union Avenue Christian Church. Overcoming Inspiration: Experiencing Acceptance is our response to the growing trend to view those living with challenges as inspiring. While often well-intentioned, it puts focus on the disadvantage -- disability, social status, demographic, circumstance, etc. -- rather than the individual. This exhibit It is a culmination of artwork that highlights what it means to our artists to live and thrive in today's world. Each artist carefully designed and created their pieces & their unique style can be seen throughout. It is a testament to what can be achieved when given opportunity and encouragement. And, it serves as a reminder that we are first and foremost people -- Artists First!
