St. Louis Poetry Center Sunday Workshop - February 17 with Justin Phillip Reed

St. Louis Poetry Center’s signature program, the Sunday poetry workshop, for February 17 will be held 1:30 - 3:30 p.m. at the Regional Arts Commission and will feature as critic Justin Phillip Reed. Free parking in the Pageant and Metrolink lots; Metered parking on Delmar is free on Sundays.

Justin Phillip Reed is a poet, essayist, flâneur, and the author of Indecency (Coffee House Press, 2018). His work appears in African American Review, Best American Essays, Callaloo, The Kenyon Review, The New York Times Magazine, Obsidian, and elsewhere. He earned his BA in creative writing at Tusculum College and his MFA in poetry at Washington University in St. Louis, where he served as Junior Writer-in-Residence. The inaugural St. Paul-de-Vence James Baldwin Writer-in-Residence, Justin has received fellowships from the Cave Canem Foundation, the Conversation Literary Festival, and the Regional Arts Commission of St. Louis. Workshops are held the third Sunday of each month, September through April, except for December. The guest poet critic will lead the workshop and provide critique on a selection of pre-submitted poems. All poems submitted will receive written comments. Workshops are free and open to the public.
