Poetry at the Point - April 23 with Daniel Crocker, Jenny Yang Cropp, and David M. Taylor

POETRY AT THE POINT on April 23 will feature poets Daniel Crocker, Jenny Yang Cropp, and David M. Taylor. Poetry at the Point is held at THE FOCAL POINT in Maplewood on the 4th Tuesday of the month. This reading series invites local and regional poets, and established and up-and-coming poets to share their words. The event is free. 

DANIEL CROCKER's work has appeared in The Los Angeles Review, Hobart, Big Muddy, New World Writing, Stirring, Juked, The Chiron Review, The Mas Tequila Review and over 100 others. His books include Like a Fish (full length) and The One Where I Ruin Your Childhood (e-chap with thousands of downloads), both from Sundress Publications. Green Bean Press has published several of his books including People Everyday and Other Poems, Long Live the 2 of Spades, the novel The Cornstalk Man and the short story collection Do Not Look Directly Into Me. He has also published several chapbooks. His newest full length collection of poetry, Shit House Rat, was published by Spartan Press in September of 2017. Stubborn Mule Press will publish Leadwood: New and Selected Poems—1998-2018 in October 2018. He was the first winner of the Gerald Locklin Prize in poetry. He is the editor of The Cape Rock (Southeast Missouri State University) and the co-editor of Trailer Park Quarterly. He's also the host of the podcast, Sanesplaining, about poetry, mental illness and nerd stuff. He is a bipolar, bisexual Gemini who lives, teaches and writes in Missouri.

JENNY YANG CROPP is the author of Not a Bird or a Flower (Ryga 2018), String Theory (Mongrel Empire 2015), and Hanging the Moon (RockSaw 2010). Her poems have appeared or are forthcoming in Arc Poetry Magazine, Hairstreak Butterfly Review, Poemeleon, and other journals. She teaches poetry and publishing at Southeast Missouri State where she serves as the poetry editor for Big Muddy. www.jennyyangcropp.com

DAVID M. TAYLOR’s work has appeared in various magazines such as Albany Poets, Califragile, Misfit Magazine, Philosophical Idiot, Rat's Ass Review, and Trailer Park Quarterly. He was a finalist for the 2017 Annie Menebroker Poetry Award, and his most recent poetry chapbook, Growing up Black, was published by CWP Collective Press in September 2018.
