Vedran Husić signs and discusses “Basements and Other Museums”

Left Bank Books welcomes award-winning author and University of Missouri PhD candidate Vedran Husić, who will sign and discuss his short story collection, "Basements and Other Museums"!

This event is free and open to the public, but proof of purchase of "Basements and Other Museums" from Left Bank Books will be required to enter the signing line.

Winner of the St. Lawrence Book Award from Black Lawrence Press and longlisted for the PEN/Robert W. Bingham Prize for Debut Fiction, "Basements and Other Museums" cycles in and out of the tumultuous history of the Balkans—more specifically, Vedran Husić’s Bosnia and Herzegovina, where he was born. These are stories rooted in place and the loss of that place, stories anchored in the wars of the 1990s as much as in the Bosnian diaspora, where characters live in the present day in places like suburban Phoenix, Arizona, and wrestle with their inherited histories of violence. "Basements and Other Museums" marks the debut of a crucial new voice in contemporary fiction.
