Royal Albert Home: Richard Thompson
Legendary British singer-songwriter Richard Thompson will deliver an exclusive set from his home as part of the Royal Albert Home sessions.
In these strange times, closing the Hall’s doors is the best way to look after the world, but we are now opening a (virtual) window for you to experience some of the most talented artists around.
Thompson is known for songs such as I Want to See the Bright Lights Tonight, 1952 Vincent Black Lightning, Tear Stained Letter and Beeswing, and his influence can’t be overstated. The likes of Robert Plant, R.E.M. and David Byrne have covered his music since he made his debut as a member of Fairport Convention in 1967.
He first played the Royal Albert Hall with Fairport Convention in 1970, and recently returned to the venue to celebrate his 70th birthday. We are delighted to see him support the Hall during this time as part of the Royal Albert Home series.
