The Dhoruba Collective at Joe's Cafe!

Jeffery Dhoruba moved to STL from KC a few years back and immediately made an impression. He is a jazz drummer with serious chops in a town that has a drummer shortage, period, much less jazz drummers. A great jazz drummer is a beautiful thing and is totally unique in the world of music. Not many would disagree if you gave Joe Charles the title of greatest jazz drummer to ever come out of STL. One of his proteges was Gary Sykes who now holds the title of grand master of jazz drummers in STL. When Jeffery got the Kranzberg nod as an artist in residence, Gary was one of the first to shout from the mountaintop that it was well earned! Jeffery has the respect of the masters. And he deserves it.
