About Kelly Wells

Kelly Wells is a folk musician, DJ, music promoter, and organizer. Kelly hosts Steam-Powered Radio on FM 88.1 KDHX in St. Louis and brings gritty old-time, hard-driving bluegrass, deep-south blues, heartbreak country, and relevant folk to the airwaves. Kelly also serves as Executive Director and Folk School Director for KDHX, coordinating folk music education in St. Louis and beyond. Wells regularly hosts workshops and consults on folk music education in the modern age. Kelly and husband, Ryan Spearman make up the old-time and vintage country band, The Aching Hearts and are the founders of the St. Louis Folk & Roots Festival.
